Mad Hatter's Children's Charity is dedicated to bringing smiles to the faces of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across the Midlands
2016 is our tenth anniversary. We provide fun and exciting educational days out for over 2000 children every year, working with over 90 special schools. We also mount a range of fundraising events and activities to support our work.
Our main annual events for children include
Mad Hatter's Summer Tea Party at Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Our biggest day out of the year supporting over 1000 children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Each year the gardens are transformed into a magical wonderland filled with face painters, singers, dancers, workshops, circus entertainers, fairground rides, music, sports games and lots more.
Mad Hatter's Christmas Party at Dudley Zoo
Mad Hatter's spread Christmas cheer to over 300 children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities with a visit to the zoo to meet Santa.
We also support a range of other one-off and smaller projects.
All of our activities are picked especially to be both fun and educational. The workshops we run help assist with sensory needs and develop fine motor skills. The children’s confidence levels also increase dramatically while attending our events after making new friends, developing social skills and becoming more independent.
Our fundraising events
We mount a variety of events and activities to support our work (for some ideas about how to support us go to our fundraising page).
One of our most popular fundraising events has been our annual AM/AM Golf Day, but for an up-to-date list of what we’re doing go to our events page.
